Mooroolbark Mini Grid 22h Off Grid Operation Proves Sharing Renewable Energy Alleviates Power Outages

Mooroolbark mini grid’s 22h #offgrid operation proves sharing stored renewable energy through the network alleviates power outages for communities: On Feb. 27th, the small residential community in Melbourne’s outer east was smoothly separated from the main power grid, shared stored solar energy from 14 homes among 18 homes continuously for 22h via the isolated AC grid segment, and then was smoothly integrated back to the main grid. AusNet Services ran the trial. A small PowerTec PowerCache® inverter/battery stabiliser forming the grid, balancing generation and load at any moment, and governing the network connection transitions was a key element to the success
