Expanding its activity, PowerTec is currently conducting factory tests of a subset of a new PowerCache®-XL 3.5MVA, 3.5MWh BESS and microgrid control system at its facility in Mitcham, VIC.
Designed to meet the demands of industrial operations in Australia, the system is undergoing comprehensive evaluation to ensure its performance in providing a resilient and secure powergrid forming infrastructure.
Despite its compact setup using custom-made equipment, the test assesses key system strength features, including fault current capability, high-resolution synthetic inertia, and voltage disturbance- and fault ride-through. These tests are essential for ensuring that the PowerCache can effectively support dynamic loads and renewables-only generation while providing network protection.
